Book formatting (default) Keeps the paragraph alignment supplied by the book.

Justified Aligns text evenly along both edges of each paragraph.

Reading aids

Control how language hints and potentially revealing illustrations appear.

Furigana display

Controls how pronunciation readings above or beside Japanese text are shown.

As published (default) Shows furigana normally, as supplied by the book.

Dimmed Shows faint readings; hover to preview, or click or tap one to make it fully visible.

Reveal on demand Hides readings; hover to preview, or click or tap one to show or hide it.

Hidden Never shows furigana.

Image spoiler protection

Controls whether illustrations remain blurred until you deliberately reveal them. Inline symbols and decorative glyphs are not blurred.

Show images (default) Displays illustrations immediately.

Blur story illustrations Shows the cover and table of contents, then blurs later illustrations.

Blur all illustrations Blurs every non-inline illustration, including the cover.

Advanced

Fine-tune less common typography options.

Prioritize reader paragraph formatting Makes your paragraph gap, first-line indent, alignment, and improved line breaks override conflicting styles in the book.

Improve paragraph line breaks Uses a slower, higher-quality layout pass to improve wrapping; many paragraphs will look unchanged.

Latin letters and numbers in vertical text

Controls the fallback orientation for unformatted halfwidth Latin letters and numbers. Fullwidth forms and vertically combined runs remain upright.

Mixed (default) Turns unformatted halfwidth Latin letters and numbers sideways.

Upright Keeps unformatted halfwidth Latin letters and numbers upright.

Vertical character spacing

Proportional spacing changes fonts that provide alternate vertical metrics.

Standard (default) Uses the font’s normal full-height vertical spacing.

Proportional Uses proportional vertical metrics when the selected font provides them.
